Because it stores far less energy than a steel cable under load, a synthetic line does not snap back with the violent recoil of parting steel, and the five extra feet of reach, 55ft where most kits stop at 50, puts your anchor point that much farther away.
This is a complete kit, not just a rope. Inside the box: the 1/4in x 55ft winch rope finished with a reinforced sewn loop end, a 3/8in soft shackle and a 1/4in soft shackle that replace heavy steel D-rings with lighter, quieter connections, a 12in pull strap for a safe grip while you spool, and a velcro strap to keep the line coiled and tidy between jobs. The 3/8in soft shackle is rated to a 10,500 lb working load limit and a 31,500 lb minimum breaking strength, and the smaller 1/4in soft shackle carries a 4,000 lb working load limit and a 12,000 lb break strength for lighter staging and connection duties.
